Santa Cruz Parkour Academy LLC – Waiver, Membership & Participation Agreement
Acknowledgement of Participation and Risk
By signing below, I acknowledge that I have voluntarily chosen to participate, or have chosen to allow my child(ren) to participate, in parkour and movement-based training with SC Parkour by Santa Cruz Parkour Academy LLC (“SC Parkour”). I understand that SC Parkour operates outdoors and at various rotating locations throughout the community, including but not limited to public parks, playgrounds, schools, urban spaces, and other designated areas.
I understand and acknowledge that parkour and movement training involve inherent risks, including but not limited to: slips, falls, collisions, injuries from physical exertion or environmental hazards, uneven or changing terrain, interaction with members of the public, and exposure to weather conditions. Travel to and from training locations carries additional risk. I voluntarily assume full responsibility for any injury, illness, loss, or damage sustained by myself or my child(ren) in connection with participation, whether caused by the ordinary negligence of SC Parkour, its staff, or otherwise.
Health and Safety Requirements
I confirm that I or my child are in good health, physically capable of participating, and will not attend if sick or contagious.
I agree to notify SC Parkour staff of any medical conditions, required equipment (inhalers, EpiPens, etc.), and to provide and manage such equipment.
I acknowledge coaches may provide safe, appropriate spotting or physical guidance as necessary.
I agree to follow all safety instructions given by SC Parkour staff. Failure to follow safety rules may result in removal from class without refund.
Parent/Guardian Supervision
Parents/guardians of children under age 6 must remain on-site during class for supervision and emergency purposes.
Code of Conduct
Respectful behavior toward coaches, peers, equipment, and facilities is required at all times. SC Parkour reserves the right to remove any participant whose behavior endangers themselves, others, or disrupts class, without refund.
Inclement Weather & Outdoor Training Clause
Classes may be rescheduled, relocated, or modified due to inclement weather, unsafe environmental conditions, or other factors outside SC Parkour’s control. SC Parkour is not liable for cancellations due to weather-related events. Credits may be reassigned at the discretion of staff.
Equipment & Attire Policy
Participants must wear athletic shoes and attire appropriate for movement. Jewelry, sandals, or unsafe clothing are not permitted. SC Parkour may restrict participation if attire presents a safety risk.
Emergency Contact & Pick-Up Policy
Parents/guardians must provide up-to-date emergency contact information. Only authorized adults listed on the registration form may pick up children from class.
Lost or Stolen Property
SC Parkour is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal property brought to class or events.
Pre-Existing Conditions
Parents/guardians must disclose any pre-existing medical conditions or injuries that may affect safe participation. Failure to disclose relevant conditions releases SC Parkour from liability related to those conditions.
Insurance and Liability Release
I certify that I, or my child, carry health and accident insurance, or accept sole financial responsibility for medical costs.
I release and hold harmless Santa Cruz Parkour Academy LLC, its staff, agents, volunteers, and property hosts from all claims or liabilities connected to participation, including illness (including but not limited to COVID-19), injury, property damage, or third-party actions.
If property damage occurs due to negligence or intentional behavior by myself or my child, I agree to pay the full cost of repair or replacement (“you break it, you buy it”).
Membership and Payment Terms
Memberships operate on a monthly subscription basis (4–8 credits per month).
Memberships are billed automatically on the 1st of each month to the card on file.
It is my responsibility to submit written notice (via email or letter) on or before the 15th of the prior month to cancel and avoid being charged for the following month.
No refunds or credits are issued. Credits do not roll over between billing cycles.
Early cancellation of a 3-month, 6-month, or 12-month membership term will result in a fee of $90 per attended month of the contract. SC Parkour reserves the right to seek collections for unpaid balances.
Class Booking, Attendance, and Cancellation Policy
Bookings must be canceled at least 24 hours before class to retain the credit.
Bookings canceled within 24 hours, or no-shows, result in forfeiture of the credit.
Families receive one (1) emergency grace pass per month for a last-minute cancellation or no-show.
After booking, families have 2 hours to change or cancel without penalty.
Credits must be used within the billing month. Unused credits expire and do not roll over.
Late Arrivals: Students arriving 15 minutes or more after class start time will not be permitted to join. They will automatically be marked as a no-show, and the class credit will be forfeited with no rollover.
Media Release
I understand that SC Parkour may photograph, record, or capture video/audio during classes, camps, or events. I grant Santa Cruz Parkour Academy LLC full rights to use these images and recordings in promotional, marketing, and educational materials, in print and digital form, without compensation. SC Parkour retains ownership of all media created.
Force Majeure
SC Parkour is not liable for interruptions of service due to circumstances beyond our control, including but not limited to natural disasters, government restrictions, or public emergencies. Memberships will not be refunded; adjustments may be made at the discretion of management.
Emergency Authorization
In the event of a medical emergency, I authorize SC Parkour staff to administer basic first aid and/or seek emergency care as needed.
Acknowledgement of Agreement
By signing this agreement, I affirm that I have read and fully understand its contents. I knowingly waive certain legal rights, including the right to sue, and I agree to abide by all SC Parkour policies. I sign freely, voluntarily, and without coercion.
